The St Cloud Hotel first opened its doors in September 1909. After a fire ravished it in December of the same year, it was rebuilt with fire proof walls and re-opened in 1910. Back in the day it was where high classed society came to dine, dance and relax. It has been said that Kate "Ma" Barker stayed in the hotel  with her sons who robbed a few banks in the area.

The St Cloud Hotel is the oldest continuous business in the city of St Cloud, Florida. Today it is being refurbished and brought back to the original luster and beauty that once was. Once completed, the St Cloud Hotel and Spa will offer almost 20 rooms, two suites, a full-service spa offering facials, massages and other luxuries. There will be a Chicago Style martini bar in the lobby, Fabulous dining at the Carriage House Restaurant and meetings, weddings and parties can be held in the Old South Room.
